No Heat Emergency Service Call with a Burnt Electrical Smell Inside the Home in Johnson City, TN

A new customer was experiencing no heat from their heat pump and it was freezing outside. Outdoor heat pump was running, but the indoor unit was not running and they were complaining about a burnt electrical smell inside the home. I verified that the thermostat was set for heat and was in an active call. I opened up the indoor air handler and found a burnt electronic blower time delay board with relay inside their Goodman air handler along with many burnt wires that had melted apart. I had the OEM board on my van as a part that I normally keep in stock. I replaced the burnt board with a brand new OEM board from Goodman and repaired all of the burnt connections inside the air handler. I cleaned all of the soot from inside the air handler as well. I was able to restore heat to their home in a timely manner.
